Is a Farmland Bubble Approaching?
Tseng notes the rising demand for corn as ethanol use is growing both nationally and overseas. As crop prices rise, farmers are using their profits to buy more land. Investment firms (interested in the low interest rates) are buying as well.
There's some level of concern, but experts don't necessarily see this as a bubble just yet. According to Yale University economist Robert Shiller, even if prices do slide, it won't be as much of a crisis as the housing or recent economic crash. Farmland bubbles are rare. Whether we will see an actual bubble bursting or not, watch land prices.

Herdsman Brand has added polyrope, polytape, polywire, insulators and chargers to its electric fencing line. Electric fencing is popular among producers due to its easy installation and affordability. This also makes it suitable as temporary fence. Electric fence is a psychological barrier to livestock; once they are shocked they avoid future encounters with the fence.
Herdsman Brand Polywire has three stainless steel conductors and is ideal for temporary grazing and rotational grazing. Herdsman Brand Polytape includes five stainless steel conductors and is particularly useful for horses. Herdsman Brand Polyrope features six stainless steel conductors for improved strength—up to 850 pounds of break force! All three have a one-year UV warranty.
Herdsman Brand features 6- and 12-volt battery/solar powered and 110–120 volt AC powered chargers. Herdsman Brand offers chargers for small to large pastures with charging distances of 25 to 50 miles.
